Rhinebeck Writers Retreat

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat was supported to run early career musical theatre writers’ retreats, in honour of Geoffrey Johnson. Through a weeklong residency, writers were provided with a stress-free environment so that they could focus solely on writing their musical. Writers were also provided with dramaturgical guidance in the form of a peer advisor who met the writers before and after the residency. Last year, writers Cheeyang Ng (Music), Eric Sorrels (Lyrics) and Desdemona Chiang (Book) worked on a new musical called The Phoenix.
