National Poetry Day: ‘The Boy Actor’
To celebrate National Poetry Day, we are sharing one of Coward’s most popular and enduring poems: The Boy Actor.
As you can see from the image of the original draft manuscript for the poem, it was originally named Reminiscence 2 but by the time it was published in Not Yet The Dodo in 1967, it had its famous title. Here is Sir Derek Jacobi performing the poem, This performances is taken from the fundraising film A Marvellous Party, produced by the Noel Coward Foundation in aid of Acting For Others.
